Disciplined Members

The High Court has the powers to strike a legal practitioner off the Roll, suspend a legal practitioner or admonish a legal practitioner. The Disciplinary Committee on the other hand has the powers to suspend or admonish a legal practitioner.

A legal practitioner who has been struck off the Roll of legal practitioners or has been suspended is not allowed to practice the profession during the period he has been struck off or the period of suspension.

The MLS is required to publish, in the Gazette and in at least two (2) newspapers with the widest circulation, names of legal practitioners who have been struck off the Roll or have been suspended and, in the case of suspension, the period of suspension.
