Continuous Professional Development Department

Continuous Professional Development Department (CPDD): Every legal practitioner is, by law required to accumulate minimum CPD points as one of the conditions for the renewal of annual practicing licence. The CPDD is responsible for designing and implementing CPD programmes. Currently, the responsibilities of the CPDD are being spearheaded by the CPD Subcommittee

Projects and Advocacy Department (PAD): PAD is primarily responsible for undertaking the advocacy role of the MLS and designing, identifying and implementing projects of the MLS. Among others, PAD implements the pro bono scheme under section 42 of the LELPA. Through this scheme, the MLS reaches out and helps deserving members of the public to access pro bono legal services. This is done in collaboration with the Legal Aid Bureau and the Courts.
