Experts

Legal practitioners like members of other professions have expertise in particular areas of the law. Chapter 5 rule 2 of the MLS’s Code of Ethics prohibits a legal practitioner form stating that he is a specialist or expert unless certified as such by the MLS or by a body recognised by the MLS for the purposes of certification. Rules 1 of the Chapter 5 of the Code of Ethics mandates the MLS to lay down procedures for certification of legal practitioners as specialists or experts in specific fields or areas of the law. The MLS is currently in the process of developing the procedures.
