Reflections on Malawi’s commitment towards elimination of harmful practices against children

An article by Theresa Chome, a member of the Gender, Child and Disability Rights Practice Division published in The Daily Times Newspaper

The MLS has the legal mandate to promote research towards the development of the law. The MLS achieves this objective in many ways. First, the MLS encourages its members to author papers for presentation at its conferences and continuous professional development trainings. The MLS holds its Annual General Meeting and Conference before 31st March of each year. Papers that are presented and discussed at the conference are predominantly authored by members of the MLS and tackle issues that are aimed at promoting research towards the development of the law.

Secondly, the MLS has a journal, Malawi Law Journal. The MLS is reviving the journal and is expected to publish its latest issue before the end of 2023. The MLS also encourages members of its Practice Divisions to be publishing on the topical issues in their areas of interest.
